Scott Cooper

Mr. Cooper serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Language Services Associates. He is also a member of LSA’s Board of Directors. In these roles he is involved with all facets of the company’s business including client solutions, strategic initiatives, operations, community outreach and client innovations. 

Since joining LSA in 2019, Mr. Cooper has overseen an era of historic growth.  This is founded on deeper customer relations, technology innovations, enhanced civic and community engagement, and LSA winning numerous awards for workplace positivity. He is leading LSA on a multi-year plan to expand its interpretation and translation services (including AI offerings), increase already industry-leading cybersecurity, M&A Activity, and expand technology enhancements and video offerings for LSA’s customers. Under his leadership, LSA has forged new strategic relations with professional sports teams, won numerous “Best Places to Work” Awards, expanded ties with state and local government organizations, and revived LSA’s High School Academic Honors Internship Program.  He travels and presents at international and domestic industry events.   

One of his most important roles is meeting one-on-one with LSA’s customers and support partners to keep LSA’s solutions customized to each customer’s needs.  He also chairs LSA’s Executive Team.  Presently, Mr. Cooper focuses on leading LSA to fulfill its Four Guiding Principles: 

– Growing LSA; 

– Innovating Technology and Product Offerings for LSA’s Customers; 

– Retaining LSA’s Customers; and  

– Maintaining LSA’s Culture and Ensuring LSA Remains the Top Language Company for Its People 

Prior to joining LSA, Mr. Cooper spent 27 years at Blank Rome LLP, where he was a Partner and Firm-wide Chair or Co-Chair of the Labor and Employment practice group, and ten times elected as a member of the Firm’s Management Committee. He had significant representations in the language services areas and related government regulation. He represented LSA for over a decade before joining the company full-time. He also co-founded and co-led the Firm’s Trade Secret and Non-Compete Litigation group, and he was the Philadelphia-based Hiring Partner, and a member of the Alumni and Strategic Retreat Planning Committees. In 2017 Mr. Cooper won the Firm’s prestigious Nathaniel Jones Award for his efforts promoting diversity and inclusion at the Firm. He has been published on various business and legal matters and has lectured all over the country and world on the U.S. legal and regulatory systems. 

Mr. Cooper has more than 25 years’ experience representing publicly traded corporations, family-owned businesses, start-ups, partnerships, major nonprofits, and government entities. He earned numerous professional recognitions for his work in both corporate boardrooms and courtrooms. He has appeared in more than two dozen federal and state trial and appellate courts, and government agencies throughout the country. He is a member of the bar of numerous courts, including the Supreme Court of the United States, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. 

Before joining Blank Rome, Mr. Cooper served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Herbert J. Hutton of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and as an academic intern for the Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.  He has also been an academic intern to both federal and state court trial judges and worked for members of Congress and state legislatures.  He was also an elected representative of his County Political Committee.    

Mr. Cooper has long given his time to civic, professional, and charitable institutions.  He was a member of the Board of Trustees of Temple University and President of the 320,000-member Temple University Alumni Association. He served as an adjunct professor at Temple University School of Law. Mr. Cooper was repeatedly re-appointed to his township’s Ethical Standards Board, where he served multiple terms as Chair.  He served as President/Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association, a member of the American Bar Association’s Executive Council of the Conference of Bar Association Presidents, a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association House of Delegates, and the Philadelphia Bar Foundation and the Board of the Philadelphia’s Law Library.  He is a Member of the Satell Institute, focusing on Corporate Social Responsibility. He chaired his Township’s Recreation Advisory Committee and served on the task force to build expanded fields and parks, and was Vice President of his local soccer club.  For 16 consecutive years, Mr. Cooper personally chaired and ran a charity event to raise food for those most in need at the holidays. 

Mr. Cooper has a certification in Business Disruption Theory from the Harvard Business School Online Program, a J.D., cum laude, from Temple University Beasley School of Law and a B.A. from Vassar College, with a double major in economics and political science. 

He is an avid soccer player, fan, and licensed coach. Mr. Cooper currently holds a seat on the Philadelphia Union’s Fan Advisory Council. 

He is married and has grown children.
