LSA is Founded

Laura K.T. Schriver founds LSA. 35 years and many milestones later, she still owns 100% of the company.  

1991

Our First Clients

LSA's first clients are Montgomery County District Attorneys Detectives, Immigration and Naturalization (INS) Asylum and New York State (NYS) Disability. Since then, LSA has grown to add prestigious clients, including Visa, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), Disney, and many, many more.

1997

New Contract: INS Asylum

LSA wins the Over the Phone (OPI) Immigration and Naturalization (INS) Asylum contract with the Department of Justice.

1997

NASA Contract

LSA secures a 4-year NASA contract to provide interpretation and translation services between American and Russian engineers, supporting spacecraft missions focused on studying atmospheric conditions, including global warming.

1999

100 Fastest-Growing Companies

The Hispanic Business Journal names LSA to its list of 100 fastest-growing companies in America.

2000

Fastest-Growing, Privately-Held Companies

LSA is named one of the “Fastest-Growing, Privately-Held Companies in the Philadelphia Region” by the Philadelphia 100.

2000

New Contract: EOIR

LSA signs a contract with the United States Department of Justice Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) for over the phone services.
2001

New Contract: CDC

LSA signs a contract with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

2002

New Contract: Supreme Court of Virginia

LSA begins a contract with the Supreme Court of Virginia.

2003

Best 50 Women in Business

Laura is named “Best 50 Women in Business” by Pennsylvania State Governor Edward G. Rendell.

2004

Top 25 Women in Business

Laura is named “Top 25 Women in Business” by the Philadelphia Business Journal.

2005

New Contract: FEMA

LSA wins a highly competitive contract to provide services for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

SBA Business of the Year

Small Business Award: LSA graduates as the United States Small Business Administration Section 8(a) Business of the Year.

Graduate of the Year

LSA is named “Graduate of the Year” by the Philadelphia Region Small Business Administration.

LSA is named one of the “Fastest-Growing, Privately-Held Companies" for fifth consecutive year by Inc. Magazine.

Minority Business Leader

Laura is named a “Minority Business Leader” by the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Top 35 Global Language Service Providers

LSA is included in Common Sense Advisory’s list of "Top 35 Global Language Service Providers," which ranks the top translation, localization, and interpreting firms globally for 2009.

2011

Video Remote Interpreting

LSA begins offering Video Remote Interpretation (VRI) services in American Sign Language and Spanish, officially making the company a full-service language provider.

2017

IRIS

LSA initiates Instant Remote Interpretation Services (IRIS - now the LSA Interpretation App), a one-touch mobile device-agnostic application for VRI and OPI services.

2018

Disaster Recovery

LSA assists the Small Business Administration with disaster recovery relief for victims of Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria.

2019

ViTel Net: VRI

LSA partners with ViTel Net to integrate with a telemedicine solution by providing VRI.

2019/2020

New Leadership Team

LSA completes change to current leadership team, which doubles LSA’s size within the next four years.

Remote Model

LSA pivots to a remote business model, expanding our geographical footprint and hiring top talent across the United States.

Philadelphia Union

LSA becomes the official interpretation and translation partner of the Philadelphia Union of Major League Soccer.

2023

New LSA Brand

LSA rebrands with a new logo, appearance, website, and improved tools like the LSA App and Client Portal.

LSA undertakes “LSA Reimagined,” a complete departmental reorganization.
