Willow Grove, Pa. (August 10, 2009) – Language Services Associates (LSA) is excited to announce that President and CEO, Laura Schriver, has been selected by the Philadelphia Business Journal as one of the region’s minority business leaders in their inaugural Minority Business Leaders Awards Program.  Schriver was one of 29 honorees recognized by the Business Journal

“I am deeply honored to receive this prestigious award,” said Schriver.  “I am looking forward to meeting the rest of Philadelphia’s minority business leaders at the upcoming awards ceremony.”

Before forming LSA in 1991, Schriver was a distinguished court Interpreter for the 38^th Judicial District of the Unified Judicial System of Pennsylvania.  Under the leadership of Laura and her management team, LSA has seen unprecedented growth.  Today, almost 20 years since its inception, LSA is a proven leader in the language services industry with more than 130 employees, a network of 5,000 global Linguists and an astounding growth rate of 65% in 2008.

The winners of the Minority Business Leaders Award will be recognized at a special breakfast on Thursday, September 24, at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel.  The nominees will also be profiled in a special supplement of the Business Journal on Friday, September 25.

This highly-anticipated biennial conference is taking place August 1-6, 2009 at the Philadelphia Marriot Downtown

Willow Grove, Pa. (July 20, 2009) – Language Services Associates (LSA), a leading provider of language-based services, will be a bronze sponsor, exhibitor at the 2009 Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) biennial conference.

More than 2,000 sign language Interpreters are scheduled to attend this six-day conference, partaking in a variety of networking and educational activities.  Workshops, discussion forums and entertainment are just some of the highlights of this year’s conference.  The event will also feature an exhibit hall where language service providers will have the opportunity to showcase their products and services to current and prospective Interpreters.
